Wellness and Life Stage Exams

Maintaining optimal pet care takes regular upkeep. Since your pet is aging and changing all the time, it’s important that a veterinarian checks them regularly with regular Wellness and Life Stage Exams.

We hope that you’ll contact our veterinary clinic and veterinarians to learn more about these services to ensure that your pet stays both happy and healthy, now and well into the future!

For the pet owners of Safety Harbor, Florida and beyond, our veterinary clinic is proud to provide a comprehensive range of services to ensure that your pet lives a long and happy life. From dog boarding, cat boarding, general pet boarding, wellness exams, surgical procedures and more, we’re proud to deliver a wide range of outstanding services to enrich the life of your pet.

Our veterinary clinic recommends that all pets receive an exam a minimum of once a year. This will allow us to establish baseline levels of your pet’s health and gives us a chance to look for early signs of disease. Annual parasite screenings include testing for potentially deadly heartworm disease and intestinal parasites, some of which are transmissible to humans.

New Puppies & Kittens

Puppies and Kittens receive their first set of immunizations at 6 to 8 weeks of age. We will see your pet every 2 to 4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. During these visits, we will discuss heartworm and flea prevention as well as nutrition, behavior and house training.

Core Vaccines

Pets have different life styles and risks of exposure. Vaccine schedules are tailored to your individual pet. We will ask questions about their life and recommend an appropriate program accordingly.

For pet owners from Safety Harbor, Florida and the greater Sunshine State, we are proud to provide outstanding veterinary care to your pet time and time again! From dog boarding, cat boarding and general pet boarding, to vaccinations, surgeries and wellness checks, our animal clinic provides everything you need to ensure that your pet stays in the best possible health!

Life Stage Exam

Pets age faster than people and can be considered “seniors” at just the age of 7. Veterinarians at the Animal Hospital of Northwood are well equipped with the knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify age related problems and formulate strategies to allow our pets to live longer and healthier lives. We recommend that our senior pets are examined twice a year. A number of diseases common to the aging process can be treated more effectively when diagnosed early.
